A to Z Allied Health (“we”, “us”) provides mobile paediatric Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology services across Sydney. We take the privacy of children and families seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal and health information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).

What information we collect

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you call, email, fill in a form on our website or attend sessions. With your consent, we may also receive information from others involved in your child's care, such as GPs, paediatricians, teachers, early childhood educators, NDIS support coordinators and plan managers.

Why we use it

Who we share it with

We only share your child's information with your consent, for example with your GP, school, NDIS plan manager or support coordinator. We may also share information without consent where the law requires or allows it, such as to prevent a serious threat to someone's health or safety, or to meet child protection obligations. We never sell your information.

We use trusted service providers to run our practice, such as our website and form provider (Webflow) and our practice management software (Splose), which we use for client records, notes, scheduling and invoicing. Some of these providers may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.

How we store and protect it

We store records securely, using password-protected systems and limiting access to staff who need it. We keep health records for at least 7 years after the last session. After that, we destroy records securely.

Our website

When you use our website, our hosting provider may collect basic technical information, such as your browser type and pages visited, and may use cookies. Please avoid including detailed health information in website forms. We'll collect what we need when we speak with you.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you or your child by contacting us. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. In some limited situations the law allows us to refuse access, and we'll explain why if that happens.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question or concern about privacy, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it: admin@a2zalliedhealth.com or 0406 944 141. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992) or the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (ipc.nsw.gov.au, 1800 472 679).
